Social compliance

SMETA 4-Pillar — verify it on Sedex, not on our word.

In July 2026 our principal manufacturing base completed a SMETA 4-Pillar audit covering all four pillars: Labour Standards, Health & Safety, Environment and Business Ethics — carried out by QIMA as a full initial, semi-announced audit. The plant knew the window, not the day.

Why 4-Pillar

The 2-Pillar version covers labour and safety only. 4-Pillar adds environmental data and business-ethics systems — the two areas EU retail compliance screens for.

We do not email the report itself. It belongs to the party that paid for the audit, and the platform is the proper verification channel — buyers under NDA receive the full report and corrective action plan as part of onboarding.

One thing worth knowing before you compare suppliers: a SMETA audit is not a pass/fail certificate. It produces findings and a corrective action plan. That is exactly why we say audited, not certified — and why the reference number matters more than a logo.

Show all 6 questions

Who is Steed Sports and who is Jiangxi BaiYing?

+
Steed Sports is the international partner of Jiangxi BaiYing Group, responsible for its international business. BaiYing Group owns the plant and production capacity.

Which ISO certificates can I show my team?

+
ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018, issued 12 July 2024, valid to 16 May 2027. Open the Quality page to read the scans full screen.

Why not the plant's own English profile PDF?

+
That file still carries figures we do not publish, including headcount and a different line count. This pack is the version a buyer can file without contradicting the website.

Where are REACH, CPSC or social-audit PDFs?

+
Test reports depend on the destination and the retailer — we send the current pack under NDA after you name the market. See the testing guide for the questions to ask. Social compliance works differently: the audit reference is published above so you can verify it before you contact us.

Is SMETA a certification?

+
No — and be careful with any supplier who calls it one. SMETA produces a report and a corrective action plan, not a pass/fail certificate. Ours is a 4-Pillar audit by QIMA (July 2026, full initial, semi-announced): Sedex site reference ZS420056145, audit reference ZAA600218893.

Which pillar count should a footwear buyer ask for?

+
If your compliance team screens environmental data or business ethics, ask for 4-Pillar — the 2-Pillar version covers labour and health & safety only. And ask whether the audit was semi-announced: it means the factory knew the window, not the date.

Download the pack, then send the brief.

Use the PDF in your supplier file. If you need the NDA pack for a named market, write destination, quantity window and style on the inquiry form.
