Custom sneaker production has a sequence, not a slogan.

There is no honest single number for how long custom shoes take. There is a sequence. Dates are confirmed after the sample is approved.

Search pages are full of “90-day custom sneakers” graphics. They look like project management. They are usually a ranking trick: one number, no last, no mill, no line assignment.

Steed Sports is the international partner of Jiangxi BaiYing Group. We will give you a date when the inputs exist. Until then, here is the sequence every honest programme follows.

The sequence

Why the bulk date cannot precede the sample freeze

Bulk is a loaded line, booked materials and a frozen construction. If the outsole compound is still being sourced, or the last is still moving, a production week is fiction. Sampling is documented on the sampling guide. This page starts where that freeze happens.

Capacity on the partner campus is 20 million pairs of footwear and 10 million garments a year, with a 156-person R&D centre and more than 4,000 SKUs developed a year. Scale is why a trial and a later programme can live on the same floor. Scale is not a reason to publish a fake lead time.

Quality is part of the calendar

The plant runs ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems, renewed 12 July 2024 and valid to 16 May 2027. Inspection is not an extra week bolted on at the end. It is four gates: incoming material, in-process, pre-final and pre-shipment. Critical defects are inspected at 100%. Market-specific test reports and buyer audits are shared under NDA.

GateWhat is checked
Incoming materialUpper, bottoming and trims against the frozen spec
In-processStitching, lasting, bonding on the running line
Pre-finalFull pair review before packing, with photographs on request
Pre-shipmentAQL sampling as agreed; 100% on critical defects

What you should put in the first email

Market, reference shoe or tech pack, target quantity, and whether you need your own last. Payment terms and Incoterms are confirmed with the quotation — FOB and CIF are standard; DDP can be discussed for full-container orders. Packing can include logo printing, custom labels, branded boxes, polybags and hangtags.

If you are not ready for a custom programme, read ready stock vs custom first. If quantity is the blocker, read what to expect on MOQ.

FAQ

Lead time — questions buyers ask.

Show all 4 questions

How long is production after sample approval?

+
Lead time is confirmed after sample approval. It depends on material booking, line load and order size. We do not publish a fake window on this page.

Can you ship faster if I pay more?

+
Rush is a line-load question, not a surcharge slogan. If a slot exists, we say so in the quotation. If it does not, we will not invent one.

What about sea freight?

+
Sea transit is typically 25-40 days to the EU and US. That is industry typical, not a Steed promise. Port and Incoterms are confirmed per order.

Who inspects?

+
Four gates: incoming material, in-process, pre-final and pre-shipment. Inspection reports with photographs can be shared. Third-party inspection can be arranged at your request.

Send the market and the reference shoe.

We confirm sampling time per style, then bulk lead time after sample approval. Sea transit to the EU and US is typically 25-40 days.

Send the brief. A human replies within 12 working hours.

Name and work email are enough. Add the market, a reference shoe and a target quantity if you have them.
