Most buyers who get burned in China skip one step: they never see the line their order runs on. We start with the tour — on site, or as a live video walkthrough — before you commit to tooling.
A factory tour is not a courtesy. It is the cheapest risk control available to a buyer placing a first order.
Come to Shicheng County, Ganzhou, Jiangxi and walk the production floor. We arrange the visit around the lines your order would actually use.
If travel is not practical, we run a live video tour of the campus and the specific lines, so you see the state of the equipment in real time.
ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management-system certificates, plus market-specific test reports and social-compliance files — shared under NDA.
Our manufacturing partner Jiangxi BaiYing Group occupies a 473-mu campus — about 78 acres — with 480,000 m2 of floor space in Shicheng County, Ganzhou, Jiangxi Province.
The site runs 16 intelligent production lines and 68 smart stitching lines, producing 20 million finished pairs and 10 million garments a year. Upper knitting, sole tooling, assembly and packaging all sit inside the same campus.
More than 4,000 SKUs leave these lines in a year, supported by a qualified supplier network of 100+ mills and component makers, and 125 patents with 16 software copyrights held by the group.

Who actually owns the line? Many 'factories' you meet online are trading offices. Ask which campus the order runs on, and ask to see it.
What is the real MOQ? MOQ starts at 600 pairs per color (mixed sizes) for existing styles (1,200 pairs per color for custom styles) and is confirmed per style at quotation — it depends on style complexity, the material set and whether new tooling is required. Be wary of a number quoted before anyone has seen your design; it will move later.
What is the sampling timeline? Sampling time is confirmed per style, including revisions and material sourcing. Sample cost is refunded against the bulk order.
Who inspects, and when? Inspection follows the AQL standard agreed for the order, with 100% inspection on critical defects, across four gates: incoming material, in-process, pre-final and pre-shipment.
Will they sign an NDA? A mutual NDA is signed before any design discussion. If a supplier hesitates on this, the conversation is over — that tells you how they treat your IP.
Buyers use the word custom for three very different jobs. Naming yours correctly is the difference between a quote that works and a quote that wastes a month.
You pick an existing style, we apply your logo, colours, packaging and labels. No tooling, fastest route to shelf. This is the whitelabel path most first-time buyers should start with.
An existing platform with your changes: a different material set, a colourway system, an outsole tweak. Partial tooling, moderate MOQ, sampling confirmed per change.
Your tech pack or our design team from sketch to last to tooling. Deepest control of fit and identity, longest runway — the process runs design, cutting, stitching, lasting, testing and packing in sequence.
See what each stage involves in how shoes are made in a factory, or start from the design tool if you already have the idea.
The risk in this search is not finding a factory. It is wiring a deposit to a front that cannot walk you onto a line. Before you compare prices, verify the plant: live video, a third-party audit, an on-site visit, or a document pack under NDA.
The campus numbers we publish — 16 lines, 68 stitching lines, 4,000+ SKUs a year, 156 R&D people — belong to Jiangxi BaiYing Group, our long-term manufacturing partner. Steed handles design, sampling, QC and export on our own P&L.
Whether you are screening footwear manufacturers for a first programme or comparing custom sneaker manufacturers for a specific last, the checklist is the same. Ask any China shoe manufacturer three questions before you send a design: who owns the tooling, what the sampling cycle actually is, and what happens to your pattern if you leave.
On-site or as a live video walkthrough. See the lines your order would run on, then decide.
